It is a much buzzed topic when re-electionist Senator
Chiz Escudero and GMA-7 actress, Heart Evangelista officially announced last
October, 2012 that they are indeed a couple. Escudero made this announcement in
a Kris TV episode whom he co-host and admittedly opened up about his new found
love.

But after months of a blossoming romance between the
politician and actress comes a sudden news that struck everyone. In a press
conference in March 19, 2013, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco, Heart Evangelista’s parents admitted
that they are against their daughter’s
relationship with Senator
Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who is 15
years, her senior at 43. They added that, "Ang tao pag bastos sa magulang... lalo na
'yung anak ko, balang-araw, kawawa naman 'yun, baka ano mangyari do'n, ” It has been revealed in the said press conference that
Chiz would frequently shout at Heart and
would force her to disobey them.
'We are now appealing to Mr.
Escudero to leave our daughter alone for a cooling-off period," Cecile
said. They also reiterated that their revelation has nothing to do with
Chiz’s senatorial bid for the upcoming election.
On the other hand, Heart Evangelista
in an interview with 24 Oras, the news program of GMA-7 defended her actions,
saying that she’s at the right age to decide for herself and that she is happy
in Chiz’s company. "Nahihiya
lang ako sa boyfriend ko,
kay Chiz, saka 'yung family niya,
wala naman silang ipinakitang masama sa akin, napakabait nila tapos nagkaroon
pa ng mga kasinungalingan, mga paninirang ganyan (I’m just embarrassed for my boyfriend, Chiz, and his
family, who has been nothing but nice to me. They’re so kind to me, but
suddenly there are these attacks toward him)
So if you are Heart
Evangelista what will you do? To obey your parents or to stand up for the man
you loved?
